Who is eligible to register to vote





You can register to vote in Hardeman County, Tennessee if you meet the following conditions:

  • You are a citizen of the United States. 
  • You are a resident of Hardeman County, TN. 
  • You are at least 18 years old on or before the next election. 
  • You have not been convicted of a felony or you have had your rights restored.

Note: You do not choose a political party when you register to vote in Tennessee. If you vote in a Primary Election you must declare which party’s primary you wish to vote in.

How to register





Are you already registered to vote in Hardeman County? Check your voter registration status on the Tennessee Voter Registration Look-up tool or you can download the GoVoteTN app and access your voter registration information there. 

You may register to vote in-person at the Hardeman County Election Commission office or Online.

You may also register to vote in-person at the following locations:

  • Department of Safety Driver’s License Office 
  • Department of Human Services 
  • County Health Department
  • Public Libraries 
  • Register of Deeds 
  • County Clerk 
  • Armed Forces Recruiting Offices 
  • Post Offices 
  • Public high schools

You must register no later than thirty (30) days before the election.  If you submit the application by mail, you must vote in-person at the first election.

When to update your voter registration





Did you move within Hardeman County?

The Tennessee Voter Registration Application also serves as a name and/or address change request.

When you update your address within Hardeman County, you may mail, fax, email, or submit the form in-person to the Hardeman County Election Commission office.

When you update your name, the form must be mailed or taken to the Election Commission office.

The form must be signed and received no later than five (5) days before the election in order to process the change.

Instead of using the form, you may submit, in writing, any address change within Hardeman county to the Election Commission office.  The written request must be signed and received no later than five (5) days before the election in order to process the change.

If you have not updated your address and the voting period has begun, we encourage you to vote during the early voting period. You may go to the early voting location in Hardeman County to update your address and vote.

Did you recently move to Hardeman County?

If you recently moved to Hardeman County, your previous voter registration does not transfer.  You must register in Hardeman county by submitting a Tennessee Voter Registration Application to the Election Commission office. You may either go in-person to the Election Commission office or mail the application to the Election Commission office.

All registration deadlines apply to new applications.
